Following the first intervention of Apple, Microsoft, Mozilla and Google in the inappropriate use of https certificate to spy into citizens privacy which led to the ban of Kazakhstan in August 2019, the four browser maker is banning this certificate again.
Kazakhstan government is banned from the interception and decryption of the https traffic for the residents in her capital city of Nur Sultan.
This certificate has been in used since 6 December 2020 which prevent residents from accessing foreign sites except with the specific digital certificate issued and installed by the government on their devices.
Not even search engine like Google and other social media like Twitter Facebook could be accessed unless the certificate is installed on their devices.
The government official try to justify their action by claiming that the exercise is to prevent mass cyber attack from third-party of servers, however this excuse could not hold water because the certificate can’t save guard traffic from a third-party of service.
