Israel Signs First Joint AI Declaration With US

Agreement formalizes cooperation on artificial intelligence, semiconductors and supply chain security

Israel has signed a joint declaration on artificial intelligence with the United States, becoming the first country to formalize such an agreement with Washington, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The declaration establishes cooperation on AI development, secure supply chains and advanced technologies between the two countries.

The agreement builds on the US-led Pax Silica Initiative, which focuses on AI-related supply chains. Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, Britain, the United Arab Emirates and Australia also participate in that initiative.

Under the declaration, Israel and the United States will cooperate on research, development, investment and commercialization in artificial intelligence, energy technologies, advanced computing, space, manufacturing and semiconductors, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The agreement emphasizes protecting sensitive technologies and securing supply chains, reflecting concerns about technological security.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said the agreement covers critical minerals access, supply chain resilience, AI development, quantum computing and next-generation technologies.

The declaration positions Israel at the forefront of international AI collaboration, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Israel has a strong technology sector, particularly in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.
